I truly believe in the power of food to help women feel really really good. When working with my nutrition clients, I always start with the microbiome and gut health. If we want to trust our gut, it has to be healthy. It is the center of our bodies and at the center of our health. We need it to function as efficiently and effectively as possible for long-term success in our health goals.

The nutrition goals we set and achieve will be centred around health, longevity, and true nourishment of your body. The goals we set around lifestyle will be built on a foundation of strength, long-term health, and confidence.

BYN provides women with the knowledge and know-how of the power of food to heal our bodies, while motivating and inspiring you to live your HEALthiest life. I will motivate you, teach you, and walk with you on your journey to a healthier version of you.

Finding the right nutritionist to guide you on your journey to better health is critical. So, let me tell you a bit about me!

Over the past decade, I’ve experienced numerous ups and downs concerning the health of my loved ones. In 2013, I lost my momma to a rare and vicious form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). She was my best friend and had such an inspiring way of being in the world. Then, in 2022, I lost my father to brain cancer. He was my rock in this world — the kind of man that if he was in your corner, you knew you would always be okay.

In between, in my early 40’s I was blessed to become a solo momma to the most incredible little girl. Her smart, beautiful, kind and hilarious soul has blessed me more than words could ever describe. After suffering two miscarriages, I wasn’t sure that becoming a momma was going to be in my cards. But as my OBGYN said at my first appointment, ‘the most important thing is how healthy you come into your pregnancy and how healthy you stay in your pregnancy’. And, here we are — two souls meant to find each other, together.

In 2021, I created Best You Nutrition to bring my knowledge as an Integrative Nutritionist to women across the globe. According the Matthew Dicks’ book ‘Storyworthy‘ our stories are really about the five-second moments that change our lives. It’s not about the big moments, the unbelievable circumstances or the hilarious details. But rather, those five second moments when you felt your heart move. When something changed forever. What is yours?

My hope is that while you join me on this journey of building a healthy community, you have those types of moments for yourself that inspire you to live a healthier life. To make the small tweaks in your every day to become one step healthier.

I have taken two sessions so far with Best You Nutrition – Reset and 30 Days To Heal Your Gut. I love the format of the sessions where you learn about nutrition in the Zoom with other participants and then get specific info emailed to you such as foods to add or take out of your diet and goals to set. I like knowing ‘why’ I am doing something because it helps me to make it a long term habit. Andea is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and personable so it makes the courses enjoyable. I recently worked with Andrea for 6 months. My primary goals were to significantly reduce my IBS symptoms and to lose 8-10 lbs. I was able to implement most of the dietary changes (and there were a lot) without too much difficulty. I found the biggest difficulty was to plan each meal to reduce mindless eating. My IBS symptoms improved within the first 3 weeks. Less generalized gut pain, less diarrhea or constipation, and less bloating. Andrea was very helpful with meal suggestions and interesting ways to add more vegetables to my diet. She was even able to help me with my cookie “addiction”. I lost 5 lbs. during our 6 months together and have more energy. I am less concerned about losing another 5 lbs. as I’m much less distressed with bloating. Without Andrea’s help, I never would have changed my diet enough to experience any significant improvement in my IBS. If I follow her recommendations for cookie substitutes and count how many cookies I eat I will also lose another 5 lbs!! Andrea gave me the tools to be successful. Thanks Andrea!

My husband and I contacted Andrea when it became clear that if we wanted to avoid health issues as we age, we needed some guidance – we couldn’t just keep up the same eating and lifestyle habits that were fine when we were in our twenties.

Andrea was wonderful! After thoroughly discussing our history and our goals, she created a program tailored to our specific situation. We met every two weeks by phone to discuss how the changes we were making to our diet were making us feel and function. The improvements were noticeable; we felt healthier and had more energy as we went along. In each session, we would talk about the science behind why these changes were helping us, which helped to cement the new habits we were forming. Amongst other things, we learned which unexpected foods are hiding on ingredient labels, the power of greens and beans, and that problems can result from items in our diet that we might never have suspected!

We have now gone through two programs with Andrea. She is knowledgeable, and supportive and has a thousand creative ideas that helped to put us on a path to achieving our goals. Andrea and I began working together on my health last summer. I was at a point of feeling completely defeated by exhaustion. I live with Hashimoto’s disease and I am in post menopause in my mid-40s. We used Andrea for a video/virtual informative session for our clients/prospects and friends. With not being able to see people face to face during covid, we wanted to offer something. Using Andrea was the perfect fit, as the last year has been very stressful on people, and the stress has taken a toll physically as well as emotionally. Andrea put together a session, that was split into two sections, with an opportunity for questions, between sessions and at the end. Andrea used language that was easy for people to understand and therefore making it a very open and comfortable dialogue. She spoke from experience and made it make sense in a nonjudgmental way.
